Connected devices registration

Another useful feature in Keenetic routers is the ability to register home network devices.

After registering your device, you'll have more flexibility in managing and protecting your home network.

Registration allows you to identify the device based on a description that you can set. Besides, you can assign the permanent IP address to your device, limit the bandwidth, create a schedule, set up port forwarding rules or block Internet access.

By default, all devices connected to the Keenetic appear on the 'Device List' page in the 'Unregistered devices' section. To register, click on the device entry.

A window showed below will appear. Use 'Host name' field to change the device's name (for your convenience) or leave it unchanged. Click 'Register' to register the device.

After that device will appear in the 'Registered devices' list.

By clicking on the registered device, you will see a window with its settings. Here you can specify a connection policy, set up a work schedule, bandwidth limitation, assign a permanent IP address to your device, add a port forwarding rule, check additional connection info.

To limit the bandwidth, enable the appropriate option and specify the necessary bandwidth using kbps or Mbps.

NOTE: Important! The bandwidth limit you set will be applied both for incoming and outgoing traffic.

If necessary, you can use bandwidth limitation based on a schedule.

Detailed information about bandwidth limitation settings you can find in the article: Speed limitation of connected devices

If you want the device to receive a permanent IP address from the router each time it is turned on, enable this option and specify the IP address.
