Adding a router locally

The Keenetic app for Android and iOS mobile devices is designed easily manage Keenetic routers, whether it's a single device or the entire Whole Home Wi-Fi system, and their home network. Thanks to cloud technology, your Keenetic devices will be accessible not only from your home network, but also in any place where your smartphone or tablet has Internet access. A public IP address is not required.

The app will remember all your Keenetic devices and allow you to connect to them without passwords or logins from anywhere in the world. With the help of this application you can update their operating system, reconfigure Wi-Fi parameters and manage the built-in services of Keenetic devices, check the status and current speed of your Internet connection, turn on or off guest access point and control all home devices connected to your router or Wi-Fi system. For each of them you can limit the speed or completely deny access to the Internet, forward the necessary ports, set the content filtering profile with  SkyDNS or AdGuard DNS.

Features

The application is a part of the 'Keenetic Cloud' service and has:

  • User accounts: registration, account login via web browser or application. User data is not bound to a specific mobile phone.
  • Web-portal https://keenetic.cloud, which in future will mirror the functionality of the application.

Among the new features of the application you can note:

  • Adding Keenetic devices in any operating mode: Router, Adapter, Repeater/Extender, Access Point/Extender.
  • Automatic device search in the local network. IP address and management port aren't important, the application itself will find all the Keenetics.
  • Remotely add Keenetic by CID (CloudID). You can find the device's CID in the Web Configurator on the 'General system settings' page.
  • Compatible with the Whole Home Wi-Fi System. The application allows you to configure and manage the devices of the Wi-Fi system.
  • E-mail and push notifications about events. For example, we will notify you about your Keenetic's status change (online / offline) if your ISP has failed, and we will notify you again when Internet is back on. We plan to add more types of notifications in future.
  • Global statistics. The cloud retrieves and stores data from any group of devices or users for up to a month.
  • Family Profiles allow you to manage groups of connected devices that share a common owner. For example, you can disconnect all your child's gadgets from the Internet at once.
  • Locations. Keenetics on the same local network, included into a Wi-Fi system or not, are displayed as a group. You can manage several loacations from one account.
  • Network segments support, as in the web-interface, with all additional parameters.
  • End-2-end encryption between Keenetic devices, the cloud and the application using Curve25519 + AES technology, P2P sessions and key registry securely protect the transmitted data.
  • Compatible with Keenetic Whole Home Wi-Fi system. The application allows you to configure and manage the devices of the Wi-Fi system.

What is required to run the application?

  • Mobile device with iOS (Apple) or Android operating system;
  • Keenetic router (KN-xxxx) with KeeneticOS release version 3.00 and higher;
  • The 'Keenetic Cloud v2' service must be enabled in the router web configurator on the 'General system settings' page;
